Akas (8)
Five more hours in the last two week ends, still working on the akas. It's still cold so the garage is not pleasant to work in. Today we glued the doubler on the forward aka, using 400 grams of resin thickened with microfibers. The photo shows the 3 still unfinished pieces, i.e. the rear swing arms and doubler, temporarily used as weights to press the doubler on the aka.

This proved to be by far the most intense snowfall in this town in the last 50 years: about half a meter of snow in town, almost one meter at the Space Geodesy Centre! Over here we're not used to that much snow so you can imagine that things slowed down a bit around here. Anyway, Cinzia lives where the boat garage is so she managed to work a couple of hours on the aka planks. Here's a pic showing the forward aka, the doubler and one of the swing arms

Happy New Year
Happy New Year everybody! Nothing done on the boat in the last week... Today we're under a quite unusual snowfall which makes moving in town quite difficult... This is a view of my balcony one hour after I had cleaned everything....
