Fiberglassing the amas (3)

Four hours between last night and this morning to fiberglass the deck of the first ama. Here's a pic of the (tedious) preparation of the surface with the rotoorbital sander and 120 grit.

The fiberglass (160 g/sq.m.) was then cut to size and laminated on the deck using about 500 g of epoxy. The two large aka bearings will be fiberglassed later because we had to fill several screw holes.

This morning we checked that everything was ok, cut away the useless fiberglass from the deck porthole opening, and removed the rough edges of the fiberglass using a Surform and a sanding pad.

Total work time to date: 445 hours.
